The Processes of Dehumanization in the Encounter with the Other: An Exploratory Study During the Lynching of African Americans in the United States, 1882 – 1968

The dehumanization processes represent a failure in the attribution of thinking skills to other human beings. Based on ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, and nationality, social prejudices are reinforced basic neurocognitive structures. Still, their manifestation is conveyed by personal goals normative beliefs, which develop an environment dyadic relationship or intergroup contexts. Therefore, this paper aims peruse perspectives for theory dehumanization, supporting them with neuroscientific research neural basis, exploring forms that African Americans suffered when they were victims lynching United States.
